Iraq

Following the defeat of the Islamic State in Iraq in 2017, millions of Iraqis are still in protracted displacement. In addition, several hundred thousand Syrian refugees remain in the country.

Since 2017 we have worked to understand the diverse experiences of displaced people, and how they interact with the aid system. Sharing information with aid providers on community perceptions of humanitarian aid, and specifically cash and voucher assistance, we have aimed to ensure such views are better included in response decision-making.

When COVID-19 took hold, we sought to find out how displaced peopleĀ  felt about information, trust, economic impact and behaviour. We also spoke with daily labourers about the unique challenges that they have experienced during the pandemic.
